Scout Week 2017

Every year, on the 22nd of February, Scouts worldwide celebrate the birthday of the movement’s founder, Lord Robert Baden Powell. This year, ScoutsTT is embarking on a week-long celebration of Scouting with its first ever Scout Week from February 11-19, 2017.

Scout Week is a time of celebration for ScoutsTT – a time to highlight the good work our movement does for the community as well as our 105th anniversary, which was recognised on January 4, 2017. Across Trinidad and Tobago groups will take part in activities including camps, expeditions, community drives and parades as part of the festivities.

The theme for Scout Week is ‘Scouting: Strong Leaders, Strong Values’ which will carry through to the Association’s National Rally to be held in San Fernando on March 11th.

ScoutsTT will use the opportunity of Founder’s Day to unveil the newly revised Scout program, which is continuously being updated to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s young people. At the core of the program is Character Development, achieved by means of fun outdoor activities.

Young people join the movement from as young as seven years old and are trained to become strong leaders with strong values. ScoutsTT is certain that our influence can change the nation one youth at a time and we encourage the entire nation to Go Scouting with us.

The National Scout Organisation’s mission is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full potential as individuals and as members of their local, national and international communities. All of its programs offer fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

We join our 40 million brother and sister scouts around the world in celebrating the vision of our founder to create a better world.
